To Get To Bayou Segnette State Park:

From I-10 Westbound (Fla/Ms):

Once you get into New Orleans, stay in the center or left lane. Once You see the signs for S. Claiborne Ave/Bus. Hwy. 90 West, you will want to be in the far left lane. Bus. 90 will split off from I-10 at the Superdome, you need to be in the far left lane which will turn into Bus. Hwy. 90. Once you get on 90, you will be taken over the Crescent City Connection, a large bridge that turns into the Westbank Expressway. Stay on 90 until the expressway ends. Continue 7 lights past the expressway and turn left into the park at the yellow flashing warning light (Drake Ave). We are the second light past the McDonalds; if you get to the Alario Center on your left hand side, turn around and go back 2 lights.

From I-10 Eastbound (Baton Rouge)

NOTE: Most directions you will find will take you over the Huey P. Long Bridge (US 90) via Clearview Pkwy. We STRONGLY recommend anyone in a motor home/towing a vehicle/in a large vehicle NOT take this bridge. The bridge is extremely narrow and is currently under construction.

Once you pass the exit for I-55 North in Hammond, you will go appx. 12 miles over the spillway. The first exit you will get to over the spillway will be I-310 South. Take I-310 South over the bridge until the interstate ends. When I-310 ends take a left on Hwy 90. PLEASE WATCH YOUR SPEED as Hwy 90 has several speed traps. Continue down 90 for about 12 miles until you enter Jefferson Parish. Once you pass the Winn Dixie, stay in the right lane. Hwy. 90 and Bus. Hwy 90 will split past the light at LaPalco Blvd. You will want to merge right onto Bus. Hwy. 90, the Westbank Expressway. Continue 2 more lights past the Alario Center and turn right onto Drake Ave at the flashing light.

We love Bayou Segnette – we were there this past week-end. There is a tree planted there (all over actually) with a small pink flower that attracts birds. Can you tell me the name of this tree?? I’d really like to plant one. I have a picture of the one I’m talking about if there is somewhere to post it

    Thanks!
